Kihei Fourth Fridays - Maui's Friday Town Parties

Maui's Friday Town Party is celebrated in Kihei town on the 4th Friday of each month. Local vendors and artisans, food vendors and entertainment fill the parking lot at Azeka mauka in the heart of Kihei town for a community evening of fun. The keiki zone at this event is particularly fun with different attractions monthly. Balloons, music, arts and crafts can usually be found for the kids to enjoy. Grab some kettle corn and bring your favorite little someone to get their face painted. 

The new restaurants in the complex, including Fork and Salad Maui, Miso Phat Sushi and Shearwater Tavern, will get extra patrons on that night. Food trucks will also be present to showcase tacos, sumo dogs, and teppanyaki, just to name a few. Local jewelry designers and clothing companies bring their hottest sellers for the sales opportunity. Even hammocks are available to purchase so you can relax when you find your own private getaway. 3 different entertainers are scheduled on the main stage throughout the evening with plenty of parking nearby. 

The monthly party is from 6p to 9p it is a fun way to get out break into the weekend and celebrate "Aloha Friday" - a weekly reason for residents to celebrate in Hawaii. 

Kihei town is a small beachside community in South Maui where real estate and investments are still affordable with short term vacation rentals and larger, more luxurious condos available.

Makawao Town - Upcountry Maui

An old Upcountry Maui town where Hawaiian cowboys or "Paniolo's" have existed since the 1800's. The farming town has a cooler climate and country feel that makes you feel like you've stepped away. Green pastures and livestock are kept on large parcels of land and farms up here. Trees and forests with hillsides that in some places extend for miles. Okie Rice Arena still exists and is a fun place to spectate seasonal rodeo or polo. Just a short 3 mile drive up the road and you're at the Makawao Forest Reserve - an awesome place to go for a family hike. 
At the base of Makwao town is where you'll find Komoda Store where there is often a line for the best fresh baked pastries on island. Polli's Mexican Restaurant is a locals favorite for a friendly smile and a taco, and Makawao Steakhouse has an awesome happy hour or steak dinner.  Walk a few blocks and peruse the art galleries and quaint boutiques. Don't be surprised if you see a true Paniolo riding along the side of the road in this small country town

On the Third Friday of every month Makawao Town hosts Maui's Friday Town Party. Food vendors and artisan crafters bring out their best goods to showcase for purchase. The street comes alive with the lights and the smells of a street fair on Maui. Now featuring a keiki zone with balloons and face painting. Live entertainment top off this fun way to get out with the community and "Share the Aloha"  -  break into the weekend.
